Cancelling Your Subscription

What happens when you cancel your Layout subscription, how access changes, and what data is retained.

Updated over 2 months ago

You can cancel your Layout subscription at any time from the billing section of the dashboard. There are no long-term contracts or cancellation fees, and your subscription will remain active through the end of your current billing period.

When you cancel, your app and dashboard access continue normally until the billing cycle ends. During this time, your app will keep accepting orders, syncing with Square, and functioning as usual. This gives you time to wind things down without any sudden disruption to customers or staff.

Once the billing period ends, your subscription becomes inactive. At that point, your app will no longer accept new mobile orders, send push notifications, or display announcements. Customers may still have the app installed, but ordering and active engagement features will be disabled until the subscription is reactivated.

Your data is not immediately deleted when you cancel. Business information, branding settings, analytics, and historical data are retained for a period of time. This allows you to reactivate your subscription later without having to rebuild your setup from scratch. However, while inactive, syncing with Square and live app functionality will remain paused.

If you decide to reactivate your subscription, you can do so directly through the billing section. Once reactivated, access to all features is restored, syncing resumes, and your app becomes active again.

If you’re unsure whether cancellation is the right move or want to pause usage temporarily, adjusting locations or reviewing engagement metrics may help before fully canceling. Many businesses choose to reduce active locations instead of fully cancelling if they are undergoing temporary changes.
