Creating your Layout account is the first step toward launching your branded mobile ordering app. The process is designed to be simple and fast, with no technical setup required upfront. You can create an account at any time by visiting app.layoutmedia.org.
When you sign up, you’ll be asked for basic information about your business. This includes details such as your business name, address, and contact information. This information helps Layout create a profile for your company and ensures your dashboard and app are configured correctly. Layout does not use this information for marketing or spam, and it is only used to support your account and setup process.
After submitting your initial information, your account will be created but not yet active. To fully unlock the platform, you’ll need to activate your subscription. Activation is handled through the billing section of the dashboard, which you can access at app.layoutmedia.org/billing. Layout uses Stripe for billing, and all payment details are processed securely through Stripe’s hosted checkout.
Once your subscription is activated, you’ll gain access to the full Layout dashboard. From here, you’ll see your main overview page, which includes high-level metrics and quick access to setup tools. At this stage, your app is not yet connected to Square and is not visible to customers. This gives you time to configure everything properly before launch.
The next step after activation is completing the setup wizard. The setup wizard walks you through the core configuration steps needed to prepare your app. This includes uploading your branding assets, selecting your primary brand color, and customizing how your app will look to customers. The wizard also guides you through connecting your Square account and selecting which locations and items should appear in the app.
If you manage multiple businesses or locations, Layout supports switching between companies directly from the dashboard. Each company has its own setup flow, branding, and Square connection. This makes it easy to manage multiple apps under a single Layout account.
You can leave and return to the setup process at any time. Layout automatically saves your progress, so you don’t need to complete everything in one session.
